* Update 1/4/2014

 The first project is 75% done. The fence dividing the Shinn Pond area and the trail has been removed. Also the trail between Arroyo Park and the creek trail is now open.

* Update 5/18/2013

 On Wednesday 5/15 ACWD put up an 8’ fence between the park and the trail. Construction on the pipe near Arroyo park should start soon. Expect the trail between Arroyo Park and the creek trail to be blocked soon. People will have to park at Fremont Community Park on 3rd st. or in the smaller parking lot on School St.

Over the next few years the ACWD(Alameda County Water District) will be doing a few projects near Shinn Pond and along the Alameda Creek Trail. The ACWD plans to build a fence around the Shinn Pond grass area and the trail to keep the dogs from getting run over by the many trucks that will be passing by. Parts of the trail may be closed from time to time. For more information on the projects visit the ACDW’s website for the Current Fish Passage & Related Projects. The projects are scheduled to start in April, 2013 and run through 2015.


The first project is the Shinn Pond Gravity Rediversion Pipeline No. 2 project. This project is scheduled for April 2013-November 2013. During this time The trail between Rancho Arroyo and the Alameda Creek Trail will be closed.
