It is almost summer and that means foxtail season. Be very careful with your dogs around foxtails. When dry, they can enter the nose, ears, eyes and any other orifice of a dog. If a dog has thick fur, the foxtail can get stuck in the fur and eventually work its way through the skin. Foxtails are very difficult to remove and require a visit to the vet. They are very expensive to remove, upwards of $400.
There are options to help prevent foxtails from entering in the facial areas like the Outfox hood.
